One of the most important days in Australia is January 26, it’s called Australia Day. It is the anniversary of the arrival of the first fleet of convict ships from Great Britain. It’s a time where everyone comes together as a nation to celebrate the great things about Australia and what they are proud of. Over half the population participates by going to community events. People show off their patriotism by wearing crazy outfits in red, white, and blue. Some people even paint their faces, temporary tattoos, or go all out and cover their whole body in the nation’s colors.

Australia has everything from uncrowned white sandy beaches to big cities. There are well over 10,000 beaches. There are two major cities Sydney and Melbourne. Sydney is mold and beautiful while Melbourne is arty and cultured. A must in Australia is to dive and snorkel the Great Barrier Reef because it is the largest reef in the world and the only living organism viewable from outer space.
